Illusion or Reality..??!!

What kind of world are we living in today..??!!

It is more of illusion with a liberal dose of reality.

The mind creates a world of illusion. Once this is done, our thoughts change to adapt to this illusion and accept it  but what we forget is that reality resides within us and hence we start experiencing the conflicts that eventually becomes exacting on us. Even though, the  abstraction of illusion is only a fragment of our mind, it has an overpowering control on us since we let it handle, the handle bar of our life.

The World Wide Web has dwarfed the world. Google has an answer to almost everything. Today, anything and everything is within our possible reach from any corner of the world. Gadgets control our life and seem to extract from all of us, our time and money to such an extent that we, practically, live as an asocial in an e-World today. This world has undoubtedly reconnected us with old friends and relations but it has also limited us from individual bonding. Gone are the days, When we sat to chat with friends on grounds! Now, we chat in chat rooms..!! Meeting in person seems a distant possibility. Same applies to families, too. How many times have we received updates of our near and close ones from social networking sites or emails?  Checked out family function memories on the web. Instead of attending functions like how our parents used to do it with great enthusiasm in days of lore.

Beyond the aforesaid, we also have the self-created pressing need to maintain the same lifestyle as those of our peers/friends/relatives et al. There is no doctrine as such yet we feel a compelling need within us to be on par. True to Rick Warren words “Our culture has accepted two huge lies. The first is that if you disagree with someone’s lifestyle, you must fear or hate them. The second is that to love someone means you agree with everything they believe or do. Both are nonsense. You don’t have to compromise convictions to be compassionate.”

Given such a base premise, one might wonder why then are there so many people living an unreal and fake life? Well, it is primarily due to them not being able to sift between illusion and reality and draw the line. They are unable to do it because they never allow their inner self to assert and guide them. These are the very people who don't want to hear the truth because they don't want their illusions to be destroyed. Do not be misled by what you see around you, or be influenced by what you see. You live in a world which is a playground of illusion, full of false paths, false values and false ideals. Let yourself never be a part of such a world.

The only way forward when in conflict of mind is to doubt what you are taught to believe; unlearn what you have learnt and relearn once again. If the realm you live in real then you do not have to maintain a fake appearance. You just to be who you are and enjoy life's little and big things. As Bill Gates, once said "Don't compare yourself with anyone in the world... If you do so, you are insulting yourself."

I, always prefer to be true to myself even at the consequence of being misunderstood or becoming a subject of ridicule for others and embarrassment to self. This negative response doesn't bother me as much as incurring my own abhorrence does  if I do not keep my reality-check intact and deviate to illusion..!!

Moving On...

If you haven't the strength to impose your own terms upon life, you must accept the terms it offers you. ~ T. S. Eliot Life can hit real hard at times. Some incidents knock you down, some breeze past while some blow you out and bring you to your knees. How many times do we wallow in the bitterness of our lives that has embittered us deeply to the extent of them leaving a dent on us? Be it the emotional upheavals due to the lows in business or career, a broken heart, being grossly misunderstood, lovelorn, untrue accusations, drifting away of close relations, death of revered ones, frayed experiences of being used as a pawn after having been unknowingly kept in the dark, caught in Catch 22 situations, the list would go on endlessly... It's oft said, "Move On...". Do not hold back onto the past, live in the present, dream of the tomorrows that are waiting to unfold themselves with time. Is it really as easy as it is said? NO. For the value system inculcated ...

Matter of choice..!!

Heck, three decades of life's journey and I didn't know whether I was coming or going..!! Seen it all... my dad's death right before my eyes, my marriage falling apart in 3 hours (I used to think it only happened in Hollywood..!!), disconnect within family, career swinging uphill and downhill, ghastly accident, financial crisis, betrayal in love, friends who were not really friends, solitude, depression... the list would go on n' on. Hell, I even attempted suicides when I couldn't take it in anymore but I survived. What did I learn from it..?? I was destined to live . Deep in the rampant carnage of what was left of my so-called "life" that was disintegrating me rapidly, I realized, I had to pause and make sense out of it as it was me and me alone who could get the handle on my life again. Death is an obvious, why then was I running towards it when it was running away from me? Whatever had to happen had happened and it was over. Why then was I not...

Living in the Surreal World

The surreal world, once an evolution has today morphed so well in our daily lives that we fail to realize that it has taken over our real life. Have you had to face situations where you had to save yourself with a smirk or a caustic smile and had the feeling that "What in the hell was that..?!! WEIRD... WTF". This has a lot to say about the socially conscious high tech surreal life, we are leading today which instead of advancing us has relegated us to becoming soulless bodies who seem to have an opinion on anything and everything about the universe. It is true there has been a rapid evolution in the environment around us, especially technology that seems to be growing at a rapid rate and sucking us in its gyre. Peer and social pressure compels us to match pace with its version of representation of what should be our world. Take for instance success of the likes of Facebook, Twitter n' its cult. YES, it has made the world appear a mere speck as against its...
